General idea
when I went to the pampas
I carried my heart
happy as a chirigüe
but there it died;
first i lost the feathers
and then I lost my voice
and above burning the sun.

LOVE IN EMERGENCY STATE
Chile's historic saltpeter land was never a place for love. On the other hand it was for the work, the sacrifice, the illusion of the "white gold", the hope, the revolution, the port and their farewells. This is borne out by the 775 letters collected in the book: "Pampa Escrita", where the word “love” is mentioned just a dozen times in front of the more than a hundred times in which the word “work” was written in ink.
The most arid place on the planet put resistance to the treasure hunters and charged it with gore and sweat. Drops longed for the burning stone.
LOVE INFRASTRUCTURES
Referring to a shelter for the constant "slapping of the sun" 1, it is built on the most boreal end of the historic saltpeter quay, a contemporary chapel, capable of harboring any belief. A refuge, a lighthouse, a gazebo, a pyramid, a space of contemplation, a sundial. The emergency blankets will serve to reflect the sun (silver face) and to create shelter (golden face). The nitrate workers of Chile were able to load 30,000 bags daily, only protected from the sun by a sack of saltpeter behind them. If the pyramid was not perfectly built, the ships could be wrecked at Cape Horn. The pyramid, symbol of the union between heaven and earth, is then synonymous with salvation.
